Human Rights and Environment Development Centre (HuRENDEC) is a leading non-profit making Non Government Organization (NGO) in remote district Kalikot, Nepal. It works in Since its’ official establishment in 1997 (2053), it has been working in need based action orientated multi-disciplinary areas through social mobilization especially focusing on Human Rights, Livelihood/micro enterprise, Lobby Advocacy and Empowerment, Good-governance, response to manage Disasters, Natural Resource Management and Rural Nature friendly infrastructure.
With experienced professional team in social development field, it has served to 188,980 disadvantaged, marginalized, underprivileged and un-touch-ability people of 24972 house hold of Karnali Region through 23 projects. 29750 (23.8%) people have improved life standard through agro-based revolving micro enterprise development activities. 2975 vulnerable children re/enrolled to school for formal education and mobilized in awareness raising activities formulating child club. It addresses natural disaster and contributes to protect environment in Karnali region by mobilizing indigenous resource and knowledge.
It has linkage and synergy to national and international. It is associated with NGO Federation, Collective Campaign for Peace (COCAP), Human Rights Alliance, District Water and Sanitation Hygienic Coordination Committee and District Disaster Risk Reduction Coordination Committee. It has depth-rooted in the workplace in collaboration with local/national government agencies, Development Agencies UNDP, HELVETAS Swiss Inter-cooperation Nepal, European Union, terre des homes – Germany, World Bank/PAF and DFID/RDIF.
